After graduating with a Bachelor of Urban Planning (First Class Honours) from the University of Auckland in 2018, Shivaani has built a strong career in statutory planning with 7 years of experience in Auckland, most recently as a Senior Planner at Auckland Council. She has particular expertise in Premium resource consent applications, handling projects of regional and national significance.

Shivaani's experience encompasses a broad range of planning assessments, including residential, subdivision, community and social housing, infrastructure, and commercial developments. Her leadership capabilities have been demonstrated through her roles as a Senior Planner and Acting Project Lead, where she has been responsible for allocations, mentoring, and delegated decision-making.
