Since obtaining a Bachelor of Urban Planning (First Class Honours) from the University of Auckland in 2016, Matt has worked as a Resource Management Planner in Auckland and Wellington. His career spans 9 years across both city councils, where he has developed extensive experience in assessing a wide range of resource consent applications, including residential, subdivision, commercial, heritage, rural, government, and infrastructure developments.

Matt has progressed through various planning roles, gaining comprehensive experience in decision-making and leadership. He has served as a delegated decision-maker for resource consent applications and has taken on Acting Team Leader responsibilities, providing mentoring and guidance to other planners.
